Who runs The Untamed Chapter?
David Fennell, a Belfast-born novelist published by Orion. He founded the store, designs every product himself, and answers every customer email. Based in London. Ships worldwide.
What is The Untamed Chapter?
A literary merchandize store for readers, writers and screenwriters. Every design comes from public domain works or original typography created in-house. No copyright shortcuts. No mass-produced nonsense.

Are your designs ethical?
Yes. Every design uses public domain works or original typography. No copyrighted material without permission. A founding principle of the business since day one.
Who are your products for?
Book lovers, readers, authors, screenwriters, dark academia types, and anyone who wears their literary identity proudly. If you've ever bought a book instead of lunch, you're in the right place.
PRODUCTS AND SIZING
What do you sell?
Mugs, hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, beanies, tote bags, tumblers, Kindle cases and wall art. Designs draw on classic literature, gothic romance, dark academia aesthetics, banned books and the writing life.
What are the mugs made from?
Ceramic. Available in 11oz, 15oz and 20oz. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
What are the T-Shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts made from?
A premium cotton-polyester blend. Soft, warm, and built for long reading sessions. We also sell the Comfort Colors 1717, which is cotton.
What sizes do the apparel items come in?
Most apparel runs from S to 5XL. Every product page includes a full size guide. Please check it before ordering. Items are made to order, so sizing returns aren't accepted.
Are the beanies one size?
Yes. One size fits most. Stretchy and comfortable across a wide range of head sizes.

What is a bookshelf mug?
A ceramic mug printed with book spines from a specific author or collection. Looks like a miniature bookshelf in your hands. Popular with collectors and gift buyers.
ORDERING
How do I place an order?
Browse the store. Choose your product and size. Add to cart. Check out securely through Shopify. All major payment methods accepted.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and Shop Pay. Checkout is handled by Shopify, so card details never touch our systems.
How do I cancel or modify an order?
Production starts quickly, so cancellation or changes are only possible within a short window after purchase. Contact us straight away and we'll do our best.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Not currently. Products arrive in clean, professional packaging suitable for gifting.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Where do you ship?
Worldwide. Regional fulfilment centres in the USA, UK, Europe, Canada and Australia mean most customers receive orders from a facility in or near their country.
How long does production take?
Every item is made to order. Processing takes 3 to 5 business days before dispatch.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery varies by region. Orders ship from the fulfilment centre closest to you to reduce wait times and reduce shipping cost for you. Tracking details arrive by email on dispatch.
How much is shipping?
Calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.
Is shipping free on wall art?
Yes. Wall art ships free to the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Standard shipping rates apply to all other regions and are calculated at checkout.
Will I get tracking?
Yes. Tracking details arrive by email once your order ships.
Will I pay customs fees?
In most cases, no. Because orders fulfil locally in or near your country, customs fees don't usually apply.
RETURNS AND REPLACEMENTS
What is your returns policy?
Every item is made to order for you specifically. We don't accept returns for change of mind or incorrect sizing. Please review the size guide on each product page before ordering.
What if my item arrives damaged or misprinted?
Contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo of the issue. We'll replace it at no extra cost.
What if there's another problem with my order?
Contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll work to resolve it. Approved returns must be sent back using a tracked postal service at your expense.
How do I contact you about an issue?

Do you have a physical store?
No. The Untamed Chapter is independent and online only. Print-on-demand fulfilment keeps products affordable and reduces waste.
Do you work with influencers or book bloggers?
Yes. Bookish creators are welcome to get in touch through the contact form.
